My mother was recently diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy and seizure disorder. She has experienced 1 tonic clonic seizure and a few partial and/or focal seizures
Every day however, she has headaches, sometimes they develop into migraines. She has medications for both the seizures/epilepsy and migraines. She takes the antiepileptic drug twice daily, and the migrain drug as need at the start of the headache

Is there groups or epilepsy foundations for carers. I don't know if this occurs They might have some sort of teaching services for carers. Keep asking questions on this site Recently I have had my medications played around with and I have been having headaches everyday even waking up with them. They are not full on migraines though. I hope things settle down for you both. It is a scary situation to watch from my experience its seems to be scarier for others than myself. Take care
I know a lot of people on the site mention persistent headaches as well as the epilepsy Have you tried putting this on the Q&A section you may get more answers Hope they find something to help your mum You need a break too- I wonderif there are any trained carers out there ( some can do live in care ) -might provide respite care
Yes I had epilepsy for 46 years it's just get under control
Kenters90, sorry to hear your mom is dealing with. Are you and your mom aware of all the meds and migraine drugs she is taking? For example the dosages, the side effects, and conflicts these drugs are producing? Are you keeping a journal of all the activity that is going on and when? You can use the information gathered to share with her doctor and make adjustments to make her feel better.
Hi Kent. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's pain. I'm sure it's hard for you also. Just keep working with the doctor trying to get the right dose. You can also go see a different doctor. Prayers for your mother and for you. Have a good day.
