JME
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

While on medication I feel like my finger still twitches and in random places it twitches but not as bad when I first got diagnosed. Anyone with JME ever get off there meds?? Does anyone else feel this way also?

i have jme and still have jerks from time to time which my dr. said lamotrigine doesn’t necessarily prevent. he recommended if it’s bad enough for me to function there was another med he could put me on in addition to lamotrigine. i get them when stressed or too focused on an activity like playing guitar...super weird.

If I am thinking correctly it is Juvenile Myclonic Epilepsy. Before they determined what was causing my husband's seizures he tried stopping the meds to no avail. He will still have breakthrough seizures on occasion if he misses a dose. He has twitches in his legs, especially at night and has since childhood.

I have heard that with JME it is common to have twitches, but i am not sure. I would need to read more information on it.
