I've had generalized convulsive seizures (grand mals) for almost 20 years. I stop breathing every time, sometimes up to a full minute. I'm not currently prescribed any medications and am completely reliant on Diastat (rectal gel diazepam). The shots are expired, and I'm really disappointed I was ever prescribed what it usually intended for children. Have you ask your doctor about getting a vagus nerve stimulator implant put in . My brother Jeff was just like you and had butt med plus’s other med he puts in his mouth and the new vns are programmed to your blood pressure, cause when you have a seizure your blood pressure goes up and it will give you a zap to keep or stop a seizure

I'm not in Michigan but I have a nasal spray called madazalam for the same reason. I'd ask your neurologist about it

Im from nc but i had 4 siezures before they diagnosed me with epilepsy ans 5 before i got put on anything but i was in the hospital and my mom discussed it with the doctor and i got sent to a neurologist i would just tell them that your not gonna continue being on just the shot when it happens and that you have children and need to be able to live a normal life and ask for keppra which is a oral pill its what im on i take 500mg twice a day and only had one siezures since i got put on the medicine. Knock on wood.

Yes absolutely I was with my neurologist for 30 yr and he wasn’t listening to me so I went to another doctor. You do what’s best for you

If you feel that your not getting help from for Dr. , you need to find a different one
