Are You Legally Allowed To Be A Passenger On A Motorcycle When Not 6 Months Seizure Free?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know your not allowed to legally drive until you're 6 months seizure free. But i can find any information if you can be a passenger on a motorbike. My thought is in a car you're enclosed and dont have much effect on the driver if you have a seizure. On a motorcycle you can, thoughts?

I do agree with the possibilities of hazadness here. Personally though I've never chosen to ride any sort of distance with someone I didn't know well. Anyone Knowing me wouldn't be of the panicky type with me on the back of their bike to begin with. So therefore if a seizure did occur it would be easily identified with out all the looky loo crap and calmly pull over at an appropriate area to adjust for the situation.

In my own way of thinking strapping could be more dangerous to both of your lives. If a person is strapped in and the seizure causes unconsciousness, unbalanced confusion fear etc. There could be extreme lack of control of the bike, concentration and focus of the driver will be hugely affected. it just human nature to turn around to see what's happening adding stress. The outcome will definitely not be great for you and other people. I very negative but I have looked after many people with brain injuries that's the ones that survive and some have taken their eyes of the road for a minute and not stressed (eg changing radio) Boom!
