For those people that take a lot of steroids for their epilepsy you will notice your toe and finger nails become thick. Can anyone recommend an electric or battery file that I can use to make them thinner? normally I would see a foot specialist but because of covid I can't come into contact with them. Thanks.

Your talking about a "DREMEL" rotary hand tool.
Many manicurists use it for the application of artifical nail tips .
I know this as one of my manicurists used it.
After having my nails done I've learned many a tip/trick .
Including how to "Clean my nails with the edge of a broken light bulb to take off
the buildup of dirt/film"
I probably have at some point. But it feels like i am still dealing with very thick finger and toe nails. Years ago i did see a nail doctor for advice and he suggested the awful sound of surgery to clean the nails on my toes. I told him no not in this lifetime. But if a battery operated file exists for thick nails, i would be interested in getting more information about it.

I take the Generic for TEGRETOL which is Carbamizipine
and my nails are strong but never discolored.
IF they are I take a Q-tip and dip it into peroxide to whiten them
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member you said they are turning yellow .In my opinion I would see GP because it could be a fungus which is common but it can take a long while to get rid of it. I have also read Vicks Vapour rub can be a at home remedy but I remember what issue I think it was for fungus. Cant hurt
I have just read up about medications that cause this problem. Carbamazepine and other anticonvulsants
