Limictal Poor Eyesite
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know that one of the side affects of lamictal is very poor eyesight. When I go to the ophthalmologist. They have no idea what my eyes are doing whether they are good or bad. Its really confused them the vision can change in 5mins. I have told them it must be the medication and the optic nerve was a little involved with the tumour and surgery. If I go off the lamictal will my vision improve? Glasses are not great but at least I can see

Any question You have about Your epilepsy is NOT a bad thing to ask Your Dr. about. Answering questions is part of a Dr.s job that is one reason they get paid for.

wow They like to take but have no idea what the word Give means.
We do have a disability pension here there some criteria that need to be met but no where near as hard as it is in America. We now have a system NDIS national disability insurance scheme. It will give you an allowance for whatever is needed by a person eg special bed, support workers transport, group fees, cleaning anything. assets don't come into the picture. Like England's NHS
My husband works for ndis and his boss kept throwing applications into my face in the end he filled in the front page LOL. I did go for it but it was refused
reason was I wasn't going to psychologist for depression and the funniest was I didn't get for epilepsy like transport because I was on medication in the same sentence she asked how were my seizures. I know people who shouldn't have it like cleaners at their houses when they have jobs as cleaners. Really its using the right words and Drs who will write it with you. My GP and I together filled in an application early last yr I think so I will do another one. I don't know where the last one is because it in a safe place and we will go through another one. No lawyers needed here

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Not to mention that they have all of the expert knowledge and experience too. As long as you have a good doctor, he is always the one to ask. And if he is not a good doctor, then you need to try very hard to find a better one and ask that doctor. Either way, there are other doctors who you can talk with that have more knowledge from training than any of us have. We can only sure advice from personal experience or share links to reliable sources of information. Talking with your doctor is always number one priority.
