Why Is It That I Have An Episode Even Though I'm Faithfully Taking My Medication
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have partial epilepsy. I've been taking Keppra twice a day for over a year. Lately I've been having these episodes. I may become completely disoriented for a long time, I can randomly have my whole side go numb or limp, or my whole side can randomly twitch. I'm wondering why this may be.

Don’t feel bad Kitty . I also will have seizures out of the blue , without a reason.
I can’t even explain why I have them.

Now , if I’m having seizures from lack of sleep, stress late on meds , and ect. , I would know which of these are causing my seizures . But the ones that come out of the blue, I don’t have a clue.

maybe the meds are used to it therefore your seizures are not effected. sometimes meds does that. or you have to get more meds. sometimes (rarely) all the meds don't work and you have to do something diet and cbd oils with the meds.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member, You might keep a watch of how you’re feeling cause there’s a variety of things that can trigger a seizure & we all have different triggers but then again, I don’t believe the cause is always going to be because of a trigger. My main trigger is if I get way to tired & it catches up with me then I might have one. Mine aren’t as severe & don’t occur real often. I had one in September 2019 while taking a nap & then I had one recently on May 21st while sleeping & my Mom & stepdad heard me making noises & checked on me. If your seizures get to frequent then maybe your doctor needs to adjust your meds. I take my meds & still have one every now & then. Sending Thoughts, Hugs & Prayers & hope your seizures calm down. Your friend in Texas, Becky
