I'm doing this in a few weeks I'm just wondering what it was like and whether it had any impact on your current treatment.
Thanks.
I always cleaned patients head til there was no evidence collodion! Baby shampoo was given the patient to wash hair of any residue!
My doctor and team have decided the best next step for me would to have a intracranial grid electrode implantation eeg. Has anyone had the same procedure done? I have yet to decide on when I want to do this since I am pretty nervous. any advice would be appreciated

I have to a video eeg done. I have watched some YouTube videos, but still have questions. Will they just stop all my medications as soon as i am in the hospital? Or what?
It all depends on how long the EEGV is . For one day, they won’t do a thing with meds.
From 4 - 7 days they will decrease your meds little bit at a time everyday

EEG and MRI are usually done to diagnose the type of seizure or the part of the brain affected... I haven't had either done for about 30 years now, but due to get them done soon.
I have a hard time remembering and it might not be EEG. It is a 5 day 4 night test in the hospital to help with my seizures.
That’s a long EEG, which they do to see if there are patterns for when they happen to you.
I was diagnosed with complex partial seizures in 2005. It was with an EEG test. I have had a couple since then that didn't catch any seizure activity. was told by the head of Neurology that EEG's weren't really a good tool and were archaic. If they don't capture anything, they will take me off my medications. So… read more

Very well put Margery.
I've been instructed to slowly decrease my medications in a 6 week time frame for EGG test I need to get done , i just wanted to know has anyone had to do this and what side effects did you feel during that process.
I decreased my meds gradually despite the neurologist's response. I was taking 2000mgs x 2 every day. It was overkill and I requested to reduce but his response was " Do you want another seizure"… read more
