I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 13 (10 years ago) and I've started to notice for about a year 1/2 that every once in awhile that when I wake up my tongue is really chewed up and I'll be really exhausted even if I go to bed early that night. I haven't had a seizure in 2 years. Well I'm now 5 months pregnant with twins and this pregnancy has been very hard, my husband and I have been dealing with a lot of family drama with my bro in law, we're getting a bigger place with my parents and I honestly haven't been getting really good sleep like usually not until 2 sometimes 3 a.m. and I'm not gonna lie I haven't been staying on top of my epilepsy medicine like I should (I know very irresponsible), the stress of trying to not catch this covid-19 virus, and though it sounds really silly and far out there really weird happenings at our house like random knockings or lights turning on or my daughter getting scared and saying there is a face looking at her from the bedroom door or that she sees a man with white hair and blue eyes closed doors opening by themselves and our cats staring intensely at something and feeling a very uneasy feeling (I know it sounds very very ridiculous) so saying that I've been stressed has been an understatement; anyways I've noticed lately that my tongue has been chewed up a bit more than usual and even if I do get to sleep at a decent time I'll be extremely exhausted or wake up all of a sudden in the middle of the night and I've been having quite a bit of nightmares; I've also once in awhile been getting a weird tightening or tingling feeling in my right arm (I don't know how to quite descirbe it) and intense headaches. Is it just my pregnancy or am I really having seizures in my sleep or is it because I'm not being responsible with my medicine? And if I am I wonder why it's only at night

I don’t want to scare you but I want you to take this seriously, when I was pregnant with my first daughter my doctor sent me to Cleveland clinic to be checked out . They told me I have to take my medicine always on time if I had a seizure the baby would not have oxygen and die, you have to rest if you can’t sleep at night do it in the day time , take your medicine on time and eat well and keep hydrated.

I have some hand movement that happens when i have my episodes. And i have been told that i do have them in my sleep at times just not everynight

I am someone that will have seizures while my mind and body are trying to relax for the night. I will be woken up from my sleep due to what I believe is a seizure. I’m so sorry that you are going through this. Still talk to your loved ones and make sure that you are taking Med. I have found if I miss a day I’m in for a world of hurt.

Yeah when I can't sleep at night I'll usually just pass out at some point during the day. I do realize that I really do have to take my epilepsy medication more seriously now that I have the twins. Especially because they will be identical

Scary but true, when I was pregnant my doctor prescribed me a rescue medication for anyone to administer if a had a seizure that lasted longer than 5 minutes while I was pregnant. Told me to take it with me everywhere.
