I have a tremendous fear of flying and can't take things like Valium for stress, or a couple bevvies like I used to. Most of my seizures are triggered by stress. Should I fly? It's a hell of a long way up to seize..and I live on an island..
My neurologist has given me a 1mg Ativan for when a seizure is starting to come on or just the stress alone so you might look into that
I get very stressed at the thought of flying ( doing staycations now ) 4 hours is my limit) I'd been having partials seizures all day( ,flew out of Gatwick to Lanzarote) I remember ,towards landing my head starting to twitch to the left ,my arm was tapping on the window !!!My husband was embarrassed/ cross as if I'd done it on purpose No one even noticed
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member Ativan is a seizure med 1st, pain med 2nd. some people (including me) can't do that. the main ingredient is benzodiazepine (witch i took). it did nothing.
Have you considered taking a boat to the mainland but social distancing yourself to get to where you need to go.Plus the Corona Virus is everywhere and airlines worldwide maybe grounded very soon.
It is not stress that Valium is giving you, it is anxiety.Too many times anxiety is mistaken for stress. What you are experiencing is totally anxiety.Look up the definition of stress.Try being put on Ativan. Not only does Ativan stop seizures and prevent them but also calms you down and relaxes you.Valium does not give people stress.People gives people stress.Stress is a warning that you are not coping with life's everyday problems, situations, and circumstances.Medicine can not cause stress, but it does cause anxiety.
