Increasing & Decreasing Every Other Day
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone,

I have a weird situation here, when I increase The Briviact, after a week I feel good. However, when it hits two weeks I start to have seizures. When I decrease as well, the same scenario.

My question: is it possible to increase and decrease my medication to balance what’s happening in my system to still stable?

Thank you!

The doctor has to figure out if the medication could be adjusted to help and if it doesn't what to try instead.

I don't know if what You are experiencing is the same thing that I did. A number of year ago I experienced what my Dr. call the "Honey Moon Effect" Basically I was put on a new medication and it was great-I had no seizures at all for a limited time. Then that medicines positive effect stopped working, as fast as possible. I don't know if this helps but it is one experience that I went through.

I have experienced what Dr's call the "Honeymoon Effect" I was taking a medication a number of years ago, it worked perfectly. I had no seizures, then after a short period of time that medication completely stopped working, and I ended up in an ambulance. The seizures returned.
