@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member after a seizure, your body needs to heal before you have another seizure. with clusters of seizures, your body sometimes cant heal before the next seizures. and that causes issues like speech problems and little memory problems. i dont take epilim but i googled the side effects and there is no memory problems (common and serious).

I'm on Epival which is another brand name of the medication your on. I'm on three different medications plus have two emergency medicine if I have speech problems or problems reading, writing, etc. These are now my only type of seizures due to my medications. I had brain surgery & I have a scar which they couldn't remove my speech but was able to for everything else. After five years of being seizure free then I ended up getting grand mal seizures. I only had tremors before. As soon as they put me on this medication then I've only had these little seizures & I can handle these but make sure your Dr. knows your getting them. I mostly get them around my menstrual cycle & if it's very humid outside.

My son jokes and calls them speech twitches, and that my language is just twitching like my muscles sometimes do if I am tense. I do that, replace a letter with one that isn't supposed to be there, or say a word similar to the one i meant. It is a common issues, and just keep track of how often. It can be from the seizures or the medicine. So probably later on once you are seizure stabilized your doctor will begin to address side effects, and how to lessen or get rid of them.
