I have been on Vimpat for several years. It is one of the few meds that has successfully helped to control my seizures. Some of the side effects I am coping with: constantly tired, fall asleep suddenly (while on laptop & wake up with my fingers still in typing position), extreme hair loss, gain weight, lack of energy. I am going to a Psychologist, because side effects of seizure meds do mess with a person's thoughts/emotions....

This is gross, but it caused me stomach pain and made me poo blood. The Dr blamed hemroids but it stopped when I stopped the vimpat.

I've Been Taking Vimpat Morning & Noon Causing Me To Be Sleepy Everyday For Several Years With Evening Fycompa & Clobazam. I Stopped The Vimpat On My Own For A Test 12/2022 . I Haven't Had A Seizure Until 7/2023. With The Vimpat, I Was Having 5-6 Seizures A Month. My Neurologist Was Happy With The Decision I Made & So Am I. Good Luck To You.💜💜

Thanks, I really appreciate your feedback. I’m pretty much against going the surgery route in any way, just out of options!! And yes I read up on refractoration which I hadn’t known about before and another reason to forget the meds . I read that if you’ve already tried many, theirs a good chance nothing is going to work, like only maybe a 5-10% chance.
But reading about refractoration is where I also saw info on the keto diet which no one on here seems too fond of!!
I personally am not liking the looks of the food you eat on it as I’m not a big meat eater! And someone mentioned constipation being a. big issue with it, I already have that too with the Keppra and Vinpat so that’s sounding even worse.
What to do? What to dooo? Hmmm
