Vimpat Side Effects
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been on vimpat for a couple of months now. I thought the side effects would be gone by now, but they haven't. But it is not all the time. I am taking my medications 12 hours apart. I still have some mornings of double vision and terrible dizziness plus can't walk without falling over. This is very disruptive to my morning routine. I am tried of this. Any suggestions?

I took vimpat for six years. And suffered from dizziness, double vision and walking imbalance on a daily bases. But everyone is different. If it continues at 3 months, you should contact your doctor and ask for a change in meds. As long as she/he does not prescribe Keppra. The drug will give you anywhere from 9 to 16 side effects daily. When I was taking it I had only 9. Take care, be well.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member The incites above from others who have been using the med and other meds from long-term. The important thing to do now is to take what has provided along with the side effects you have been feeling and talk to your doctor. Conversations with each other on hearing provides insight from experience and thus suggestions of what specifically to tell your doctor and ask from your doctor. This is all very useful information for your doctor to use in making the decision on what to do next.

Is it just the company or could it be a interaction between meds ? I took lamictal w trileptal once and I had double vision and dizziness so I know it isn't fun. I hope you can find a solution. 😊

I'm on vimpat myself. The only thing it does to me is make me really tired. I would talk to your Dr about it.
