Mouth Guard For Sleeping?

Mouth Guard For Sleeping?

I usually have my grand mal seizures in my sleep, and when i do, I tend to bite/chew on my tongue. The most common sign that I’ve had a seizure in my sleep is seeing cuts and bruises on my tongue.

I was wondering if anyone has this similar issue? Or if anyone else uses a mouth guard for sleeping due to their seizures?

I’ve never tried it, but I would be afraid it would break and It would become a choking hazard while I was in a seizure.

I’ve never tried mouth guards. My tongue is horrible with teeth marks . They are so bad that when I open my mouth and look into the mirror, there are deep teeth punctures.

When I eat food with a lot of salt , my tongue 👅 gets welts and hurts.

I have had various experiences with the Grand mal seizures while sleeping. I find that happens the most when I have them is either bighting on my left cheek which I now have major scaring from. I attempted a mouth gaurd and broke the mouth gaurd. Having severe hemophilia makes the cuts and bruising worse. What I attempt to do is to find a position that I can sleep in that's as comfortable as possible and leaning towards the right side.
