I believe so. If the right person comes around.😊
Question: Does anyone hear things around them when having a seizure. I think I just had one but seem to be aware of what’s happening. Just had trouble talking? Thank you for any input.
No awareness during seizures are absence seizures. I have them occasionally. I really wish there was a medication that was targeted to stop those seizures.
Hello! I'm new to this site and I have a question that I hope won't garner too much judgment: is anyone else here an epileptic who is (or once was) also an alcoholic? Or do you know someone else who is like that? I am both an epileptic and an alcoholic, and I realize my substance abuse is putting me at an increased risk of having seizures. I very recently committed to getting sober, but I'm curious if anyone else can relate or if anyone knows someone who is in a similar situation to mine.
I used to drink relatively small amounts, but once I started on AEDs (especially benzos) I stopped. It isn't worth the risk. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I can be happy without alcohol - no need for… read more
Hi ya! I think we should all post a video (if you have one) so we can see what each seizure looks like. I’ll start 😊

My husband suddenly started having grand mal seizures about 6 years ago completely out of the blue and was diagnosed with epilepsy about 6 months after his first cluster of seizures. He was young (27) fit and healthy and strong as he is a farmer, since the epilepsy began he has changed in almost every way... can anyone else relate?
I can’t relate , since I had Epilepsy almost my whole life. But, there is a possibility , that his seizures or medication side effects, or both are causing his personality change
I'm finding it hard to keep a relationship due to epilepsy I'm afraid to tell them incase they run or get freaked out over it. It's frightening any advice
When I first started dating the man I eventually married, I didn't tell him immediately. I probably told him on the third or fourth date. I'm sure your need to share the info could depend on how well… read more
My boyfriend has been taking Keppra for 24 days. He had a seizure on Oct 14 and the doctor put him on 500mg twice a day. He is having bad side affects of moods, anger, and depression
We want to stop it and just end the medicine. Today he only took 1 500mg.
It was his first seizure ever and he's never really taken any meds growing up, or even medicine (DayQuil/NyQuil) when he's sick. His body is super sensitive to any type of meds.
Waiting on the EEG and MRI results
I just want him to feel… read more

I ask this question because I see that grand mal seizures are still a bit of a mystery. I have had Tonic seizures where I would stiffen up for around 30-40 seconds and then slowly I'd loose tension in my body and then enter an absence state for around 10 minutes where I stare blankly and do not remember what I'm doing in that period. I definitely have been told that I do not have have spasms during my seizures so they are not tonic-clonic but there is an even weirder fact about my seizures
I… read more
