Pregnancy And Medication. What's Your Story? How Did You Make Your Decisions On Pregnancy, Medication And Breastfeeding?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

If you're a mother, I'd like to know your pregnancy story. Did you decide to have kids? Did you decide not to? What was your thought process when deciding to keep taking or stop taking medication? Did you decide to breastfeed or not?

I'm scared about having a child that develops problems their whole life due to my taking medication. I'll blame myself if that happens.

I'm 62 & had 3 trouble free pregnancies in the 80's I had a grand mall 6 weeks before giving birth to my first ,then they put me on Tergretol. I made the decision.to bottle feed ,based on no advice, the babies were just too big !I was on the pill 30 mgs if I remember & went back on it.I was told to increase the pill to 50 mg as it may be affected by the tegretl Did this but did still got pregnant.A colleague of mine was ok Keppra ,her go had advised her that was safe You need some advice from the medial profession that's for sure x

I was told as well so I have iud.
It's a lot safer and medicine won't interrupt like with pills.

Although my Epileptologist said she'll have to change my medicines and speak to another specialist and partner up for safe pregnancy.
