Gabapentin
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is anyone still taking gabapentin? I discontinued mine and I’m now worried if I should have stayed on it. Please looking for serious input.

Many years back I was on the brand name of Gadapentin, called Neurontin.

Stopping your meds without your Dr’.s approval isn’t safe. That’s with any medication.

I have it but only take it as needed because i dont want to be dependent on it. I dont like pain meds and i always have bad reations to strong ones. I mostly take Tylenol where i use to only take aleve until my doctor told me it can mess with my stomach and thats the last thing i need is more stomach problems while having this tube in there from my VP Shunt.

Worrying, from my experiences, only increases the probability of your having a seizure. From first hand experiences, I know that medications cannot completely control your seizures. Please find out what helps you relax. Inner peace is a Very potent medication.
