EEG And Results?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently had a 24 hour ambulatory EEG and my doctor said everything looked great. Then the actual report was released to me online. Does anyone know what this means: EEG Classification-Abnormal III
It doesnt sound ‘great’. I’ve never heard of this before so if anyone has insight it would be much appreciated!

I thought that the abnormal meant that they were looking for abnormal activity. Now I learned something new today too. 😊

I don’t remember for sure but I think it means that they were looking for abnormalities and either didn’t find anything, or didn’t find anything significant. I’m not a doctor though so I would ask them.

Sorry to send this answer to You, but I have given up on eeg's. I have had at least 5. That does include one that was 24 hours long one that was a week long. No good solid information came from any of them at least for me. They may work for other people. The only test that ever worked for me was the depth electrode test. That was at least a three week long stay in the hospital, but that test gave me the answers I really wanted to know. It also helped the Dr.'s in the hospital. Good Luck in the Future.

24 hour ambulatory EEG. anbulatory means a place to walk. EEG Classification-Abnormal III ... eeg is the test... classification means what you fall under (like seizures)... abnormal means not normal. III means 3.
