I was admitted in the emu back in January for one week. My Epileptologist weaned me off my meds and within a day they broke through. The nurses were always on top of everything with monitoring. Made sure the Dr was aware when they broke through. He did thorough readings. He found majority of my seizures were not epileptic, they were stress induced, pseudo. How He knew that was because in the readings there were no spikes showing up in the brain waves, they were normal. He also ran cat scan.
Afterwards he switched my medications to ones that were highly effective and a big decrease in dosage. I went from taking 1800mgs per day to 400mg per day.
I'm now six months seizure free. Just saw him on Friday and he just gave me the ok to go for my permit which I've been practicing for.
Going to the emu really helped me make a big turn around. When he informed me the stress was the cause I straightened my act out, not letting little things get to me. Good luck!!

my meds were decreased so my seizures would act up, there is always someone watching the video monitor to warn the nurses when the seiz happen so they can see them and take notes of them. there was an alarm that would go off and 5 nurses came in at the same time. once they get the info they want they will increase the meds to calm the seiz down.

My insurance covered mine. It is one of the ways they found that I was born with a rare HH tumor that causes my seizures
