After the third seizure he was given a loading dose (really big dose apparently) of keppra and that seemed to stop them. So we are… read more

i have complex partials into generalized grand mal. i take keppra and 1 other small med. keppra side effects is mood swings and tireness. i take vitamin 'milk thistle' and the mood swings are gone.
anyway i have 3 med alert. 1 is a necklace that has the words 'epilepsy' on the back. 2nd is a bracelet (that is broken) that is purple (epilepsy ribbon) and the epilepsy and the contact number. the 3rd one is just the word epilepsy. you can customize it on amazon. you can go as simple or complex as you want with the med alert.

Thanks, we had already been on keppra for several months and no difficulties with behavior luckily. Thanks for the insight though! There is so much to learn!

I say yes yes yes! Strange things happen and better to be safe. I advise having his name your name and phone number snd of corse put Epilepsy at top. If he has any allergies list them. Just a heads up on Keppra..keep eye on behavior changes. It can have some major ones. I personally experienced it if you search Q &A on this website yiu will see ALOT of it. It can cause rage and severe depression. Not sure if anyone told you. Hope he gets better soon! Hugs!
