Week Long EEG.
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Wanted to see what to expect. I have a week long EEG scheduled for next week. What should I bring? What will the week be like? I have had multiple regular EEGs. Just not one in the epilepsy center. Not looking forward to this.

During the week EEG , expect your meds to be reduced so much a day. They’ll do the strobe light test once to twice a day. It’s alway good to bring an activity bag with puzzle book, something to read, iPad, game cards and ect. There isn’t always a good show to watch an cable.. the nurse or Dr. may want you to walk around so many times a day . They may want you to have a big seizure than you normally do.

Good luck hope this helps.

Take some comfy clothes & anything to keep you busy. They usually decrease meds to trigger seizures. You will have to call nurse to get out of bed for your own safety. You can only sponge bathe I took my own soap they offer soap too. When the seizures fire up nurses come in and watch the seizure they may ask questions. You will may woken in the middle of the night to do certain exercises. In the End you will have answers to where the seizures are located and what type you have and if surgery is the answer .
