My rash has overwhelmed my body and it is super itchy. I feel like I have chicken pox. My doctor told me to just deal with it the first time when it was small. But now its my entire body. I am confused on what to do. Anyone have any advice?
They just switched me to Topiramate a few days ago. My rash is finally starting to go away.
Thanks to everyone for your advice. I have been switched medications from my Neurologist tomorrow. Thanks again hugs to everyone.
I take carbamazepine too. I checked the medication guide the pharmacist gives me. First side effect is skin rash. But it could be rare and serious and lead to death. Can happen within the first 4 months. Call your health care provider right away. Red or purple spots on your body. It says.
@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member go to the er right away because it maybe an allergic reaction to the med (or meds). if you went to the er and your dr dismissed this rash then get another dr. i had a couple of meds that i switch because of itching and/or rashing that didnt go away. we (family) are a health nut and tried lotion, vitamins, and oils with no help. do your research and trust your gut feeling.
