Birth Control
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was wondering if anyone on here take Lamictal (Lamotrigine), and has found an effective method of birth control, other than an IUD. I used to take pills, but now they are saying they decrease the effectiveness of the Lamictal, and they keep pushing for an IUD, and I will not get that. Lol

I use to take lamictal it is tricky with birth control because it lowers the amount of lamictal in your blood that’s one of the reasons why I stopped taking lamictal there are a lot of meds u can’t take with it it can cause you to have a seizure. The IUD is your best bet. Sorry 😐 can’t take the pill with lamictal I was told anyway
