I have CDL class B for 7 years driving the city bus. I had the required IA law 6 mo no driving due to seizure & woke up at the ER. ER doc put me on [[treatment:Levetiracetam:588694b66b4dcc553fd2a145]] and those 6 months ruined me. Severe depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety etc. After my 6 mo I went in to see neurologist and said I didn't want to take meds sohe weaned me off and now I feel Great. I take that medication now, before it was carbonezipine, and before that was valproic acid

Oh my family doctor said that I can try out for my driver's licence where I am seizure free for a whole year

I had a CdL but let it lapse. My understanding was 10 yrs. as a professional driver.

If you have that licence here in Australia it's gone for 5 years and if you have a car licence and have a siezure you lose it for at least 12 months..
Keppra bought my seizures under control mind you I'm on 3000mg per day and have not had a fit for 15 months now but prior to that I lost my licence for 18 months. with my partner of 24 years dying from cancer which forced me to drive her to appointments unlicensed.
