Nocturnal Seizures
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have nocturnal seizures, If I am having them during sleep how and I supposed to know if I am having them . Anyone have these. How do you handle them. I don't convulse so it is hard for anyone to know I'm having one

I sometimes will have Nocturnal seizures. I never know when I have them . My wife would tell me . Most of the time, I would make vocal noises..

It's scary because no one would know if I didn't have the low growl because I would have breathing issues. My daughter videoed me so I could see what happens. One time it took the ems crew over 15 minutes to get me on the ambulance because I had no idea what was going on and wouldnt let them take me out of bed , guess I thought I was dreaming

Yes I seizures in the early hours of the morning. I would get the aura, that alarm clock that something wasn't right, and then seizure. It took my folks videoing me and sending it to a neurologist, before he diagnosed me with epilepsy.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback The only way I even notice is a slight bite on my tongue. My first grand Mal seizure I woke up in the ER I had stopped breathing my husband did cpr the second one did not last as long but did more damage like memory issues and a slight droop on one side of my mouth. The fatigue lasted days afterwards. Now they are mild with no lasting effects yet they want to increase my dosage which makes me feel worse. You can't win
