I am concerned that I will feel very dizzy and somewhat incapacitated until the dizziness passes, which may take hours.
This is why I was switched from the regular to the XR over three years ago.
Since I am now on Medicare, the XR is too costly to continue.
If anyone has had to make a change from XR to regular, were you able to accomplish it successfully? If so, how?
Thanks again, Crystal!
My doctor said the same thing. So, hope it goes well. 🤞
I was told by my doctor to just take it at the same time as I took the XR. I don’t think you are overthinking this. It’s good to be cautious about your medications, in my opinion. Lamictal can cause some scary side effects if your dose is too high so it’s good to be cautious about it.
Thank you for your response!
I appreciate your point about dosage.
When you switched back to regular Lamictal, did you have to takie the regular pills spaced out or just jump right in and take them at the same
Time as the X-R?
Am I over thinking this???
I had the same concern about possible dizziness when switching back to regular Lamictal from XR as well. That was not the case. It was surprisingly a smooth transition. When I originally went from regular Lamictal to Lamictal XR, I did experience dizziness. But when I had to switch back to regular, there were really no side effects that I noticed. But your effects can also depend on your dosage.
