A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Need help on how to calm my husband after a seizure! He is very angry and confused and will fight. I have a fractured jaw from this last seizure.

When you talk with your husband after the seizure, remember, he's confused, probably scared, and probably wonders what happened. You have to tell him it's okay, you've just had a seizure, and you may need to say it until the words sink in. Tell him he's okay, tell him where he is, and what happened, until he gets it.

if you are calm when the husband is having (and after) a seizure and he will become calm. and just say 'sit down and relax for just a couple of seconds. and just talk with him. that works when mom calms me down after i have a big seizure.

Oh my goodness I am so sorry to hear that you were injured. Unfortunately the only advice I can offer is continued patience ~ my husband is my rock.... During one of my seizures he keeps me safe (I have no memory obviously) but after his voice is what soothes me. Everyone and every seizure are so different..... (hugs and prayers)
