My petit mal seizures wouldn't show up on the standard EEG too. It's very difficult to try and catch a seizure at a specific time. However I was admitted into a 24 hour EEG unit for 8 days and multiple seizures were seen. While I had the continuous EEG they also had video on me and gave me a button to press if I had an aura prior to my seizure. When I would have a seizure the nurse would come in the room and take my vitals and show me an object (for example my cell phone) and ask me to name it. I was unable to name things post seizure

My neurologist thought I had migraines when I first met him !I explained this wasn't the case so he arranged for me to go to the EEG dept at the local hospital They stopped the testing as I was having fits

I used to have very small ones in my sleep as well where I would wake up in the mornings with a chewed up lip or my eyes would twitch. It scared my husband to death before we got married. You can ask your doctor about it. Here is what I just looked up. Hope it helps. ❤️😢
