How To Stop This Horrible Feelings Every Day
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m not on medications, I’m thinking about going back to them, I have these constant feelings almost every day where I just feel really uncomfortable, sick, panicky like I’m constantly about to go in to an episode
If I go back to taking medications will I stop feeling like this ?

I think we have all tried to go without meds because of the side effects. I did it and came to the same conclusion. I found that it needs about a month of getting used to med before I can say psychoactive effects wear off a bit. I would recommend choosing a med with less risk of psychological effects. Some meds are dreadful for some people ....keppra and Frisium were too awful for me. However...I am on 3 aeds now and its 100 times better than the utterly debilitated state I am in after a cluster of seizures

Great question for your doctor. If you’ve been seizure free for the 2 years you’ve been off meds maybe there’s something else going on. Seems like they could do an EEG to look for abnormalities before putting you right back on seizure meds. I hope you feel better soon. 🤗

I know the feeling. I hate being on the meds. I stayed seizure free for a year or so by taking fish oil capsules and fiber supplements every day. I ended up having one after awhile so im back to topamax and still take the supplements

Talk to Your Dr. about how You are feel right now. Medicine is the most effective way to stop seizures from happening, and it does give some people a feeling of security. Taking medication may make You feel more comfortable.

I would really talk to your Dr. & go back on medication. Mention all the feelings your getting & they can even get you on one that works for those feelings because my meds. work on more then one problem
