Aura?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Would deja vu count as an aura? i remember i use to get that alot, before i was diagnosed and started medication. I was thinking that could be my aura my like warning to myself that i am going to have a seizure. Does anyone else get that before a seizure?

Yes, deja vu could count as an aura. Since many other people experience it there is no reason why it should not. If You like tell Your Dr about it, and how many other people agree with You.

I usually feel deja vu right before i get a seizure, it lets me know i'm going to have a seizure! When im feeling that aura i usually stare off in a direction, if people know me they know that stare and know a seizure is coming on. Have a good day!

Yes, deja vu can count as an aura. I have partial seizures and they are a big part of mine. If I have just the deja vu then it is usually just an aura. If it progresses to nausea and confusion, loss of awareness, etc, we (neuro and I) consider it a seizure.

I used to have dejavu vu often before I went onto meds. I have temporal lobe epilepsy so don't have seizures
