Lamictal/lamotrogine And Sore Throat Stuffy Nose
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Im only on 150mg of lamictal at the moment but still increasing, aiming for 400mg before my next check-in with my neurologist. Ive read a stuffy nose and sore throat can be common side effects of lamictal. Ive had these symptoms for about 3-4 weeks now and had to take antibiotics at one point as it became a sinus infection.

Do the the stuffy nose and sore throat symptoms go away or just a chronic thing to get used to now?

I have allergies on a normal basis and I’m on Lamotrigine for awhile and been on Lamictal in the past.

Most people who have these issues when their sinuses drain in to the throat. That’s where the sore throat comes in..

I never heard of this issue with theses meds
