Mood Changes Proceeding A Seizure
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have noticed a lot of crying and extreme anxiety with sensitivity to everything processing a seizure. Is this how I am rembering it or is it really happening like this?

Unfortunately anxiety plays a big part of our lives. We go through a lot and some of them can be so dreadful. Of course its hard to overcome so anxiety is normal for us x

I'm always anxious. My seizures bring on a host of insurmountable anxiety.

I believe my seizures really started, I was dehydrated, stressed and not getting enough sleep.

How many of us react is largely caused by complicated electrical activity in our brains. And of course many of us share common reactions.

I too have had emotional reactions, crying, etc but have found these pass quickly. It almost seems caused by wrong electrical passages not "true" reactions to a situation. However, since my last seizure happened 22 months ago, mood changes can happen even without them.

I tend to get anxiety when a seizure comes on, after the seizure it's a rollercoaster of emotion!
