Foods Or Drink Following Seizure
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have any advice about the kinds of food or drinks to have following a seizure or a period of zoning?

I tend to sleep afterwards anyway to reset my brain. It makes me very tired. In general though, water is very important.

Water. Make sure you stay hydrated

I usually just go with my normal diet. That is unless I'm feeling nauseated. If that happens I will have something plain but still palatable, like bananas, oatmeal, applesauce, or chicken noodle soup. I'm a big diet soda drinker (artificial sweeteners aren't a trigger for me), so I will have a diet coke or sprite zero. The carbonation seems to make mine feel better, it can make it worse for others though. If I am looking for just hydration, I like the sports drinks like gatorade since they have electrolytes.

For Me, Powerade/Gatorade or water helps me as far as drinks. And for some reason, I always ask for fruit after having them. (Pineapples, canteloupe, applesauce, etc) When I was in the hospital, that is also what they gave me.
