After reading this article I’m a bit stressed about the pharmacy running out of the one I normally use.
It’s happened to me here in the USA 🇺🇸. I pharmacy would be out of one of my prescriptions, and we would call around to other pharmacies close by who would have it.
It has been odd that pharmacies are running out of supply. I,too was surprised about the clonazapem. Then got part of my 25mg loraz from one and some from another the other dsy
Vimpat had the side effect of running into walls the neurologist changed to another med Fycompa the coordination is better than before .
I am sure all of us are very bothered by having epilepsy but it can be very difficult for caregivers as well.
Good night and good to everyone involved either way.
I've never had a problem switching between brands. I know of some people that are more sensitive to it though. There was one year where I was on and off insurance a few times, so I had brand name from samples or patient assistance programs, to different pharmacies that were the cheapest for me. So not only on and off brand to generic, I was on different generics. Never seemed to be a problem that I could tell. Like I said though, not unheard of for some people to be sensitive to the differences. Meds for seizures, thyroid, heart problems, diuretics, and blood thinners are some of the top medications that people are sensitive to the smallest change between brands. My dad had that problem with a diuretic, he had to have it from a certain manufacturer or it wouldn't work. I used to work in a doctor's office and saw that too with the thyroid medications and blood thinners in particular. The differences between the meds are generally very small, I think 1-3%, but again, it can be problematic for a handful of people. And again, IMO, I don't think it is something to worry about unless you've had a problem with it in the past, just something to keep an eye on.

I've been surprised at how often that's been happening lately! Even with clonazepam!
