Does Anyone Else Have Problems When Xmas Lights Are Constantly Flashing Randomly Next Door?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I wrote this blog a couple of years ago now and I cant get people to understand how it effects our family to have a festival of lights and a parade of invaders noisily celebrating every night next door for weeks on end.

We now impoverish ourselves to get away for 2-3 weeks of the worst of it and can no longer enjoy an xmas at home.

yes Christmas , new year and fireworks are not my favourite things nor is lightning so when those things are happening my curtain are closed I have light sensitivity so also have to be careful around persons with cameras , police cars, ambulances and fire engines getting really good at dodging lights

Maybe thicker curtains up or just place a thick blanket over the curtains. Flashing lights affect me. And the noise put on a relaxation tape a few times a day. I try to keep my brain focused away from noise

Hi LadyNova, good to meet you. I know exactly what you mean as they affect me terribly too, but sadly people are selfish and don't WANT to understand! That being the case, I think you're so very wise in having decided to spend Christmas away, as much as that's a real nuisance it's far better than being plagued by others and their thoughtlessness!
Every best wish, Sue.
