Has Anyone Ever Tried Coconut Oil?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I heard from somebody like 2 years ago coconut oil helps seizures go away. Take 1 table spoon in morning on empty stomach. Wait about one hour or longer till you eat breakfast.
Then at bed time take a tablespoon on empty stomach
So 2 times a day for women
For men they're supposed to take 2 tablespoon morning 2 at night.

Ever since I took this I have not had a seizure but I started my medication same day as this.
The bad part is you'll drop weight like 123 in one month.

Coconut oil is high in multi chain triglycerides. . Good for the brain. A medium chain fat, more easily absorbed than other fats and does not require caratine to transport it to the liver. It's ideal in a ketogenic Diet to help attain ketosis.
It is more palatable to put it in food. I put it in my coffee, then my, milk at lunch and dinner. You can cook and sautéed with it too. It is almost flavorless. Keep it below 400 degrees though. Readily available in grocery stores now.

For cooking, refined is good. Virgin cost more. I'm cooking with it, I look at fat content. I go for high fat. Refined.
For boosting ketosis quickly, there is mct oil in a tall bottle In liquid form . 1 tbsp per serving, best added to food. (Like a drink)
I don't know of any bad brands. Coconut oil gels below 75 deg, and liquifies above that.
