I think my mother was born a mutated genetic and that's how the epilepsy got started in her and how i inherited it too and possibly my son too.im trying to find out information within people about mutated genetics
I am still waiting for the invitation to go the genetic professional VIctoriaW, it will take some time unfortunately. When I know more I will post it here.
I am the first one in my family with epilepsy (tonic clonic seizures). Until now they don't now why I have seizures, nothing was found with the MRI, EEG etc. However, on the side of my mother migraine is very common. My neurologist said last week that recently the evidence is found that a gene mutation can occur, so that the migraine will change in epilepsy. They now requested a genetic research for me, so I am very curious what comes out.
Genetics can play a role in epilepsy. I have neurofibromatosis (NF1), which is caused by a genetic mutation. It doesn't seem that anyone in my family has it, so for me it probably just spontaneously happened. But if I were to have kids (which I'm not due to all my health issues), I could pass it on. Seizures are pretty common in people with NF1, so that is probably why I have it....it is the likely cause of the temporal mesial sclerosis that I have in my brain.
i know the feeling. i have another disease called celiac disease. celiac disease attacks the weakest link by certain foods.my hole family has it but in different ways. unfortunately mine was the brain when i eat the wrong foods. try the keto diet or atkins diet or something.
