Stress
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

A Neurologist I saw today told me that stress does NOT affect/bring on epileptic seizures. I was always told that stress can sometimes cause an epileptic seizure. Does anyone know the right answer?

I actually think any extreme of emotion is a trigger. Mine usually happen when I am extra happy and in a really good mood.

@Chartlle . Your neurologist doesn’t understand Epilepsy. If he/she thinks that stress doesn’t trigger seizures. That’s one of the top triggers, along with not enough sleep, and stayingwith your medication routine,

You need to find a neurologist who truly understands Epilepsy.
