The ketogenic diet has cured some. It's a treatment. Something you stick with
An alternative., realizing that maybe it's the carbs and the effect they have on the brain that is causing the seizures.
Remove the carbs, teach the brain to burn fat as primary energy, and seizures reduce typically.
For me, combined with the VNS, I am seizure free on all fronts, focal,TC. Complex partial. For almost 4 months. Still on pills. Hopefully knocking off some pills soon.

i have been taking 16 years. then i contacted doctors to help if they can decrease. They said since i am young, i can do an operation - it will take 2 days. when im sleep they will put dye in my leg, then they will block the epilepsy seziures on the brain. He said it was high rath 99% - and rapidly decreases your epliepsy. Anyway i did this on 2006 - after my second year pharmacy university - july. But guess what happen, when i was sleep, the dye hit the blood and bust in my brain, and i was comma. i was sleeping for over 1 month! They had to open my skull, to remove all the blood and dye. i woke up, couldnt speak, loss my speech, my language. left side stroke - couldnt feel my arm, and couldnt stand. As a muslim, the only words i can speak was the quran that i memorised. my English went to oppiste. i could speak, but am speaking a different language - eg car - means rac! i couldnt believe it! Speech is the one that really hurt. couldnt even speak to my parents! Anyway over 3 years rehabilitation, i could speak, it was hard to memorise all the words again. my stoke decreased and stopped within 1 year. the doctos was shocked, as they thought mys stroke was will permanent. Praise be to God who gave me new life Anyway after 3rd year of university i passed, - total supposed to be 4 years. but university did not allow me complete the masters, as i went over 6 years rule. i felt so depressed, my speech was poor, i couldnt talk to people. i used to go outside and just cry - asking God be able to pass this test. after 12 years im much better and speech getting better, and i stopped the lablets due to high sedation. Im full time worker at home now on amazon. i just want to find a way to decrease the epliepsy thanks for ketogenic diet have you guys tried it? does it help? I have partial seziures

How long have you been taking the meds? Did you have tiered dosing where you build up to the full dose?

If thoughts and prayers arent working for you 😒; I suggest a mindfulness course it sounds hokey but mental calmness actually does help.

I used to have 5-10 complex partial seizures daily, at that time in my life there was nothing I could do and no drugs that helped. Now I have significantly less seizures (due to surgery and lifestyle changes) I maintain a high seizure threshold by avoiding any situation that requires emotions, and writing everything down to avoid possible need for my short term memory. Those are my trigger areas pre surgery, not sure whays causing my current ones but Im doing everything in my power to control them. Im currently not on any meds, and not being treated by an epilepsy doctor.

Again, there is no hard and fast rule, mine are under control, but I had a friend who's seizures were unable to be controled. I have asked for prayer about this, coming to know Jesus could be an answer, he calms one down
