Once in a while my legs will lock up And I will try to move but can't. Because if I do I fall like a tree. And sometimes It does it in the worst places like I was trying to cross the street once and hurry before cars came. But I had to wait til it lets me move again. My Question is..Does this happen to anyone else? My mom seems to think It maybe connected to my sezuires. My mom thinks maybe my brain is not getting the signal for me to move. The physicians don't know what and how to look for all the seizures or even if the seizures should be looked for. In explanations to physicians and a psychiatrist in Texas A&M and College Station 30 years ago, they never considered epilepsy. I never thought of it as lock up, but a freeze may not be far from what you're describing. For me it would happen to legs, arms, or legs and arms. No physician ever diagnosed it until back to back tonic-clonic seizures in my sleep, at my parents 1989. Yes partial and complex partial seizures exist. See a neurologist or more specifically an epileptologist. It becomes frustrating as it expands from one limb to two limbs to all four limbs and medical professionals can't recognize partial seizures. My deceased brother with dyslexia and 165-170 IQ would see my seizures coming and explain them to others nearby. He had only a high school degree, no college or tech training, but he could recognize my seizures starting before me. If you see, hear, or smell something, that isn't there, stop, sit, or lay down, it has saved pain and injuries for me. Hearing invisible bird, in the garage, was a solid point, yesterday. It added time to emptying the car. But only one problem afterwards, and that was catching a bag on the door latch. Don't try to rush or hurry. It can create problems in the brain.
May God be with you π

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member ouch! :( I'm so sorry hun.
Mine seems to be just my legs.I can't move no matter how hard I try just for that few mins. I have Grandmal sezuires. I've had them since I was 2 days old... And this issue has happened to me since I was a teen.. I am 37 now and it still does it. I never would dress out in my P.E. Clothes when i was in high school because if you don't change to your P.E. Clothes you couldn't participate.. and I knew if I started trying to run.. they might lock up.. on me. I did try to once run and was made fun of and told I was just making it up when I wasn't. Thank you for the information :) It makes me feel better I'm not alone in this.
It happens to me suddenly out of the blue.. so I just have to wait til they let me move again.
