Seizures during this time are caused by estrogen levels. Progesterone aids in stopping seizures, but if your estrogen levels change rapidly that's what is happening to you. With my meds my seizures are no biggie either. The seizures cluster during this time. So, I may have 2-3 in one day b/f my period and then they disappear for awhile. But, they are annoying since I want to drive.

My seizures occur around ovulation and before and during my cycle. If you want to research it is called Catamenial seizures. There is not much to do for it besides hormone therapy which is risky. I'm on 3 meds to try to stop all of my seizures, but so far I still have seizures around those times. It happens to about 30% of women with epilepsy. Hang in there.
