How Long On Average To Get Balanced Out On Medication
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Been on a roller coaster ride diagnosed with epilepsy nov2 this year medication overload trying to balance out. Just want to know how many different meds did you all try and how quick before the correct one and dosage. The second part is how much dose stress and anxiety effect the meds

No one can say for sure how long. If you have breakthrough seizure your doctor will continue to up your dose and see how you do on that medication. If your lucky and it does happen, you could be seizure free within months. 💜

I’ve be going through different combinations of AED’s with my Dr.’s in the past and the one I have this present day. We still haven’t found the right meds to control my seizures.

Yes, and to be honest a lot of prayer. I’m not a religious zealot or anything but I became a single mom when my kids were 5 and 7. I told God that I had to be able to work and provide for my family...and I was able to do it! Single mom for 17 years and supported myself and kids. Now I am remarried and a grandma!

I have tried many meds and can’t tolerate the side effects and they never seemed to control seizures anyway. For me the meds are not worth the side effects. Managing stress, my diet and sleep have gotten me thru the last 20 years. Difficult times have brought on seizures and that I can’t control. But I don’t go to Drs because all they want to do is dose you up to save themselves from malpractice charges. They don’t feel safe treating you if your not on something. The medical industry is about them, not you. I wish there were caregivers who really cared.

First of all Stress and Anxiety are really big triggers huge in fact and I have taken so many different kinds of medicine and dosages I don't think I could recount but keep up hope that you will find a resolution I finally found one with trokendi it's a time release and that seems to work well with me but know your triggers
