I have not had a seizure for 5 years and have passed my driving test and have had no problems until two weeks ago when I had a seizure. I have stopped driving until I see the consultant i know the answer will be losing my license but hoping to be wrong. Has anyone had this happen and kept their license. I am waiting to see the consultant this week.
Where do you live. In the UK you would have to be a further 2 years free from seizures before being able to get a licence again. As Coral said, it would be dangerous for you to drive until you knew for sure that you were not going to have any more seizures.
I sort of get that but it's dangerous. Imagine if you killed someone because of you seizure jen
My license was taken away, unfortunately and spent months getting it back. I donβt report to my doctor when I have seizures anymore
Years ago I finally got my licence. About six months later I had a seizure, not while driving. My dr. Sent the dmv that I keep my licence because I know long enough ahead of time I will have a seizure. I could stop and pit my flashers on. Or pull to the side if one an easy Street and put flashers on. I do not know how it would have turned out if I had a seizure driving. I use my dad's car. I would never get my own car and reply on it for my job. I take the bus. I prilpmised my dr. I'd stay off the highway and usually drive in the right lane. I do sometimes go on a highway but mainly wen I have to go into Milwaukie a small town next to Portland in Oregon
I wouldn't want to drive if the seizures returned. Too much of a risk.
