Has Anyone Had A Similar Reaction To Fycompa
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I have just started on fycompa, have been taking 2mg of fycompa before bedtime for about a week, and 800mg Zebinix
I wake up with a !Horrible! headache and I feel my sight has become worse, (not seeing double or anything, just feels like I need glasses two times stronger than now, and that happened over one week) has anyone else had similar experience
Is it the combination of the two or just the fycompa. Had no problems like this when I used only Zebinix, (do not sleep well with it so I'm… read more

I have been on Fycompa for a few years now along with keppra and lemotrigine. I started at 2mg/day and over the course of 2 mths my Dr slowly increased the dose to 10mg/day. It helped with my seizures however I began having problems with vision and dizziness. I also started to go through a strong depression so my Dr decreased my dose to 8mg/day. My depression is gone however I still get times where I have problems with vision, mostly blurred or double vision but it's not as often or severe.

Have gone back to only Zebinix and my headache is slowly dissipateing, going to talk to my local doctor on Tuesday again, to see what we are going to do now, because the Zebinix is majorly messing up my sleeping hours and the quality of sleep, hoping to go back to trileptal. Feel like that one is my safe ground even though I'll continue to itch (the reason for trying fycompa was that it don't have that ingredient that makes one itch (only have my neurologist word on it being true, to much trouble trying to understand what's in it, with my memory capacity) I do not know if it was the fycompa alone or the combination of it and Zebinix, that gave me that horrible headache, the day before I went to the doctor it hurt so much that watching day light hurt, was walking around with sunglasses, and kept my eyes shut as much as possible, so from day1 to day 10 it gradually only went one way, increasing headaches from day to day, and keeping constant. Migraine I believe the proper word for it would be in the end. Feels like I have something heavy on my nose pressing down, and a lighter headache now, two days of fycompa

I have been taking Fycompa at bedtime and I have not felt any negative effects. I am starting my second week of Briviact and so I still have a few days to see how it will effect me.

I couldn't tolerate Fycompa. It messed up my coordintion so bad, I was falling and had to use a cane. I also became psychotic; I was seeing things and hearing voices. I am now on Briviact, it's ok but it seems every time they try to increase it, my balance gets worse
