I’m going in this Thursday for my amygdala and left hippocampus to be removed. It’s been causing issues seizures that keep causing issues w my memory and stress and doctors are worried about how my memory will continue to deteriorate if I don’t have the surgery now. @A MyEpilepsyTeam Member idk the cost but it is extremely expensive in 2001. with the insurance help and all it cost me, and mom, about (Phone number can only be seen by the question and answer creators) and we had to pay in payments for about 5-10 years. there was about $500 or less and the drs rode it off.
i had the surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. the Cleveland Clinic is the leading specialist in brain surgery.
i was 15 when i had the surgery and mom and dad had to pay. mom had three jobs and dad had a job that insurance is good but the pay sucks.

Bryan,that sounds great.As my seizures get worse again i wonder the cost and if a person like me, severe copd,lung problems,grand mals since 5,lung cancer in 2014,in remission now,63 years oldhope you dont mind if i ask how exspensive and how you got the surgery.also im married and cand just go out and get surgery.Wish i could have when young,kinda messed life up.

@A MyEpilepsyTeam Member i have Complex Partial seizures and had grand mals 1-2 times a day plus auras and partial seizures 3-5 a day seance i was 5 years old. i had brain surgery in 2001 and now i only have 1 or 2 night time auras every night or every other night. i went to the best at 2001, the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. and went to therapy at the University of Chicago Hospital.
