Recently through Epilepsy related social media sites, they've started to show people what to do if they witness a seizure. To show them they are actually showing a person having a grand mal/tonic clonic seizure. I'm just wondering if it's just me that can't bring themselves to watch these kind of videos, despite them being useful
Last night my fiancé showed me a video of myself having an Absence seizure that she had taken to show my doc exactly what I was like. Watching that was a little rough, I can't imagine watching a video of myself having a tonic clonic, or anyone else for that matter
Maybe I'm just a terrible person but I've always been really curious to see what I look like having a seizure. I've had them since I was 2, I'm 27 now, I feel like if the rest of the world knows what I look like unconsciously flailing, in a state like that, I should be able to know as well. I'm not too concerned with seeing other people having a rough time though cause I know it sucks, I just want to know what I look like
I have no trouble watching videos of someone seizuring. I have even watched a video of myself having a major seizure during a 5 day EEG session.
Nope, never have...it only realizizes to me what it looks like to other people staring at me as i bang around with no doctors. A Specialist who did a study on myself and 4 other patients, took us off our meds and studied us for a couple days, filming every second....we all have multiple forms of epilepsy that hit one after another, and when the seizure starts, we are still partially awake trying to stop it....me my right arm starts to rise like on a string....the doctors have prooved the seizure had already started, but in my mind if i can just get this arm down.....Boom thats it. The doctor, Dr. Oganyami from South Africa did the tests, afterwords he said, would you like to see.....not one of us said yes. Lk
Whenever I have a seizure at home, after it's done I ask my aunt, "what happened during the seizure?" If she witnessed it she explains.
