Does Anyone Else Have Headaches Weeks After Brain Surgery? How Long Did They Last For You?
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had an intracranial EEG six weeks ago, where they insert electrodes into your brain. I am having a partial resection of my perietal lobe in a month. Since going back to work last week my headaches have been more frequent. I have left my doctor a message, but I was wondering if anyone with surgery experience had advice/insight on post surgery headaches. My doctor told me there was a slight chance you could have a headache forever after the resection surgery! Scary!

I've had two brain surgeries and with both of them, I had headaches for a good amount of time after the surgery. Probably about three months and my sleep was way off. The main thing I found is that just like a child your skull will have growth spurts to heal its self. When that happened I was in my bed curled up in the dark with earplugs and my eyes covered. The headaches will become lesser and lesser as time goes on.

when i had brain surgery i had a headache but that went away in about a week after the surgery. once every month or so i have a mild headache for 24 hours or less. idk if that's the surgery or something else.

Headaches? I wish I did not know what they were. I have them every week. Many weeks I have migraines. Sometimes I have right side TMJ headaches bc my right temporal lobe is what what removed. The doctors explained this caused my jaw to drop and cause my TMJ headaches. The migraines are more frequent since the surgery but the fluorescent lights trigger them too.
