My main is Depakote ER along with Zonegran....no problems

Well right now I actually switched and am on lamotrigine. Zonegran was the first med to control my seizures- I was on it for about 5years. But unfortunately I grew a pretty big tolerance and it stopped working. Within the 5yrs of being on it, I went from 300mg to 600mg (the highest recommended dose). I took the generic- zonisomide. And the same thing happened to me when I first switched off trileptal and on to zonegran. I think it takes a little while for medication to "take effect". There were some side effects, and it took a lot of the med to control my seizures. But in the end everyone is different. Good luck! Hope this helps! 💜💜💜

I'm not sure if Zonegran can combine with Trileptal or not. If it's an AED drug. I can't see why not . I was on Zonegran many years back, and was taking 2 or 3 other AED drugs with it.

Kaylee, how are you doing on the Zonegran ? Are you taking name brand or generic? They are switching my son from Trileptal to Zonegran but too soon- he had a seizure coming off the Trileptal- had/ has 400 mg of Zonegran (generic) in him but his blood level is only at a 13- so that is not enough for him.
