Epliepsy Funding And Research
A MyEpilepsyTeam Member asked a question 💭

How much money and research do you think is being put into finding a cure for epilepsy? and which countries are providing the best solutions? Are health services from different countries working together to find a solution or is it being put on a back burner so to speak because the pharmaceutical companies are making a lot of money out of the medication?

Although they do not necessarily have the highest funding they are hard at work and the site has a ton of information on research and very important research going on along with alternative research funding. Epilepsy is such a misunderstood disorder and affects more people than a number of highly funded research fields combined. We as epileptics or with seizure disorders have to work to get the message out. A lot of people, unbelievably, are not at all familiar with epilepsy and do not realize the severity of the disorder or some do not even know what it is. That it exists.

London uni are doing some as I have my brain, tissues and spinal cord donated to them for epilepsy. I did that a few years ago now but font think many people are aware of it as when I put my name down I was number 32

When you have a small (petite) fit do you find you lose memory of previous days and don't feel right for over a week?
